Back in 2000, after many years working in IT for various large organisations, Ciaran Kenny founded Macnamara ICT in its first iteration after looking at the market and judging the Support available for the SME sector to be far behind the standards available in the corporate sector. This was not how IT should be. SMEs were stuck with sub-standard hardware and services, backed up by limited break-fix support from small scale providers, unable to imagine how anything better was possible.

The answer? Provide the same hardware and services for the SME sector, utilising the emerging Small Business Server technologies of Microsoft and the skills and experience gleaned from years in the corporate sector.

Before anyone had heard the phrase ‘Cloud Computing’, Ciaran was providing remote file access and desktop services, mobile email, and remote support.

Having built this foundation, Ciaran then went on to invest heavily in the systems required to scale this up, and assembled an experienced team of technicians and service providers, uniquely in the industry with a focus on customer service as much as technical skills. The result? A highly skilled, highly personal team of Support Technicians, backed up with the best support, remote management, and cloud services, tailored specifically to the unique business needs of London SMEs.

2000 Scalene Logic Established by Ciaran Kenny to fulfil the vision of How IT Can Be. The early company had a broad remit for IT Related Support, including web design.

2003 Company name changed to Lynx Computing, with the focus shifted to the SME market. Support services narrowed to better suit the target market and skills on offer.

2004 Awarded Microsoft Certified Partner Status; Official Dell Reseller

2007 Awarded Zen Partner status

2008 Implementation of Managed Services Platform, and introduction of 24-7-365 real time monitoring and remediation

2010 First client set up on BPOS, the precursor to Microsoft Office 365. Re-branding as ‘Macnamara IT’ under way.

2011 Moved to our office in Hoxton. Movement of all clients to Office 365 as part of the natural upgrade cycle begins in earnest.

2012 Trading fully as Macnamara ICT Ltd. Appointed Microsoft Cloud Accelerate Partners.

2013 All existing clients ‘in the Cloud’ with Office 365. First Newsletter edition goes to press
